Festival season is approaching & the mad dash to assemble the outfits has begun. Not going to lie, this is where I thrive. Give me any theme, destination, occasion and I can miraculously lean in as if it has always been apart of my personality. Don’t get me wrong, I do not subscribe to the over the top, costume types, however, I enjoy playing the part in my own way.
My personal take aligns with my general approach to dressing year round; less is more & I’m only investing/grabbing pieces that can work within my wardrobe long term. Gone are the days where I am buying an entire new wardrobe for said event.
The key to dressing for occasions like this is to consider functionality, longevity, and practicality. Quite frankly, the only things you really need to source, are accessories that go hand and hand with the overall mood board. Luckily, Stagecoach is far easier to work with as "all American” “western” influence has played a pivotal part of fashion over the past two years. It’s a category that is always relevant, therefore you’ll want to hold onto anything you find indefinitely.
I’ve put together a few looks that are realistic, that I would gravitate towards. I opt for comfortable & chic looks that can carry me from day to night. Each look feels like me - clean, mature, and styled from head to toe. I focused on basics that can be swapped around, and made accessories the main event for each look. Enjoy!
Notes to consider /
+ Do not overdo the fringe / suede / embellishments etc. Pick ONE iconic western piece, and let that carry your look.
+ Do wear an oversized top, shirt or jacket with shorts & cowboy boots, cute.
+ Do wear denim & boots, it’s giving 90’s supermodel, slash Shania Twain and we are very into that.
+ Try to keep one metal color way throughout your look; ie all silver or all gold.
+ Do not wear a cowboy hat all 3 days, mix it up! A low bun would pair nicely with a great statement jacket.
+ Do be sure to spray your suede before your wears!
+ Metal framed glasses are the way to go here.
+ When styling a white button down, be sure to tuck it into your bottoms, and roll up your sleeves for the full effect.
+ Have a black bandana on you at all times!
