HNY! Yes, I realize that we are mid-February and I have reached the statute of limitations for using the salutation (cue in Larry David) - HOWEVER, as an Angeleno, we are wiping January 2025 off the board and just NOW starting fresh.
I had originally slated this post for a January 8th launch and for obvious reasons, felt compelled to delete and try again later. We’re now in ‘later’ and I have officially slipped into my typical Q1 routine. If I’m being honest, I am very much living in a hibernation mood where I am wedged in-between working, minimal social activities, and deeply invested in a multi-series show that consumes my life (thank you very much Sons of Anarchy, specifically you Jax Teller!!!). Not sure if it is me mentally, physically, emotionally gearing up for the year ahead, and winding down from the holidays, but I am not shopping, not really dressing, keeping to myself, and just overall, in a low key state of mind.
I do take on the task of a ‘refresh’ that is key for me every new year. This includes a closet clean out (promise this step by step guide is coming soon to a substack near you!), a routine refresh (all things skin and body care), and creating lists of things I either need to do / purchase. This list is super general, down to just ordering fresh underwear or even replacing a broken pair of airpods. All combined, it helps me feel like I am getting ready for the first day of school with my backpack and supplies ready to go, and as a type A Capricorn, these are the tools for success in my everyday life.
Here’s a list of things I have been using, have ordered, or inquiring on during my Q1 refresh;

Twice a year, I refresh my pajamas, intimates, and ‘loungewear’. I keep one drawer delegated to such to maintain discipline for myself, and wear them religiously. Although, I am one of those freaks that feels like when I have worn something to death, it is time to replace. Thus, I invested in a few essentials like the Negative Underwear whipped tank, henley, boxer short, and track pant - cute, kinda sexy, simple, and soft AF.
In the same category, I stocked up on fresh thongs from Cosabella - the debate is so real between them & Hanky Panky, but as a petite short wasted girlie, these black & nude bundles are my go-to’s!
In the ‘care’ department, there are products I have been meaning to try and waited until I ran out of it elsewhere before diving in. Currently I am applying this new clean deodorant; verdict is still out on how I feel but the scent is divine. I started using the hydrating shampoo & conditioner from Crown Affair and fear I will never go back to Milbon. And I've incorporated this cleansing oil balm to my night-time routine to add a little moisture during these dry months. The olive oil foundation has been really helpful for my rosacea too!
Like most people, I JUMPED at the Rhode lip liners and ‘lean’ happens to be my favorite. Also, I have heard endless reviews on this mascara, ordered, used and LOVE - my lashes have never looked better and the wand keeps them separate / clean.
As a Dr. Diamond fan, their new collagen product launched and it has completed my evening routine. Lastly, I have been exploring new scents. I opted to try these two - one by Merit, being a little more soft / clean / musky & the other by Ubeauty, being a bit smoky, floral, and very lychee-esque. I like to have options based on my mood & outfit : )

While I hold a die-hard NYS candle household, I do save them for special occasions - and burn this specific scent I just discovered by Le Lebo during the times between; like when I’m binge watching SOA whilst having my Sugarfish take out box.
Out of practicality, I have given up on my airpods as they run out of charge too quickly, and I heard these by Bose are great. Shall report back with feedback! I desperately needed fresh towels as well, and have heard that Tekla is where it is at. The neutral stripes were the sure winner for me. I’ve received notes with custom stationary from friends and I truly value the detail, and feel like it is time to invest in my own. Also, a future great gift idea? Oh & this random little bowl caught my eye, and will likely use as a soap dish for my kitchen!
On the non-practical side, things I’m eyeing / bought into - this white tee with the snatched waist (yes I make the greatest tee of all time but I can also appreciate this one!!!), this clutch has been on my wishlist for some time…need to just pull the trigger, finally got this necklace to layer with my Moss necklace, this hair cuff is INSANE but I would never so instead I got this to scratch the itch, the perfect vacation top, AND this cashmere hoodie just felt timeless, and has had a lot of wear already.
Subtle little additions indeed, but always elevating a less is more lifestyle! xx

Need this refresh!
