I’m no beauty expert, but I know good sh*t. Much like my taste in fashion, I focus on quality over quantity. For myself, I prefer a less is more approach to beauty. Effortless application, for an effortless look is key. Lightweight textures, natural finishes, and just the right amount of polish is what I aim for.
I try to be mindful of consumption / overflow, I like to finish one thing before throwing another into the mix. I’ll keep a product in rotation until I find something I like, better.
Here are ten products that are currently in rotation, right now, that I swear by.
- Fara Homidi Soft Glass Lip Plumping Oil (in ‘tawny’) - I’ve been a FH fan since day one, and there isn’t a product I don’t love. Combined with the lip liner I constantly reach for (in shade ‘minky’), this lip oil has that gorgeous gloss, or should I say glass, effect I dream of. The lip plumping element is subtle, and doesn’t tingle at all. I’ll blend the liner onto the lip lightly then apply the oil on top for an everyday go-to combo.
- Victoria Beckham Kajal Liner (in ‘navy noir’) - I recently read that the best ‘color’ liners for hazel / brown eyes are navy & brown shades. As I went hunting, I remembered VB has the creamiest, smoothest liner I’ve ever used. Grabbed the navy, and the shade is just right. Not too blue, yet very sexy / smoldering. I like using this when I’m wearing an all black look for night.
- Isa Beauty Day Melt - As an avid fan of make up / spf removers that melt the excess away, I was introduced to this product on IG, and was sold by ‘made in Korea’. This specific product keeps my skin hydrated. It contains olive fruit oil and vitamin E, which lock in moisture and the fresh feeling after cleanse is *chef’s kiss*.
- Dedcool Dedtergent Xtra Milk - Not going to lie, I saw this detergent go pretty viral and had to try it. I get the hype. If the bergamot, musk, amber trio scent isn’t enough to lure you in, the product itself is 100% biodegradable, non-toxic & environmentally-conscious.
- Crown Affair Overnight Repair Serum - This is officially a CA fan account. Jk, but really, I am a true supporter. I attribute my thick, hydrated hair to a few products and lately, adding this into the mix has been really helpful with breakage from coloring / heat use. It’s basically a subtle leave in you apply at night and it doesn’t make your hair oily / greasy when you wake. I brush the product in with this comb, and then pull back with this scrunchie, done & done.
- Kate McLeod Lotion Bar (in ‘oud & tuberose’) - I’ve been talking about these lotion bars for a while now. The process might be a little funky to start for first time users, but once you get the hang of it, smooth sailing. The bar slides onto the body, and leaves you with the most hydrating skin. There are now several scent options that are seasonal, and this one is new for fall. As my skin suffers this quarter, I lean on this product as an everything shower treat.
*They also just launched a ‘to-go’ stick that can act as a hand lotion, lip treatment, anywhere you are dry essentially.
- Maison d’Etto Eau Du Parfum (in ‘canann’) - Been searching for more ‘grown up’ scents, and came across this collection. This scent in specific is more of my evening go-to, and is filled with pretty much everything I like; (top) cardamom, pimento leaf; (heart) tuberose absolute, neroli; (base) woody notes, tonka, oud. It does last, and it does get a lot of attention. I would highly recommend this vegan fragrance house.
- Patrick Ta Major Glow (in ‘sunkissed bronze’) - A gf of mine brushed this onto the high points of my neck, décolletage, and shoulders before heading out for a night in Vegas and it added a highlight that was extremely flattering. Typically, I forget all about products like this when getting ready, however, this is now that one extra step I refuse to skip when wearing a sleeveless / low top. The brush allows for a glide on application that wasn’t too heavy for a subtle glimmer.
- Westman Atelier Bronzing Drops (in ‘soleil parfait’) - MVP product of the year, for me. I have used this product pretty much every time I have applied make up over the last few months. I apply it with a beauty blender generously all over the face as I would any other bronzer. Note; it is quite potent - proceed with caution - yet, buildable. This shade is the perfect balance of cool / warm and heavy on the tan. I am in between shades so went with darker, my personal preference.
Let me know how you like these products should you try! <3
